“Nature and Currency” at the Numismatic Museum

The Numismatic Museum participated for another year in the “Green Cultural Routes” by organizing educational activities related to the celebration for students and the general public with the ultimate goal of promoting the plant world through the coins and plants of its garden.

The Green Cultural Routes are a communication action of national scope, organized by the Ministry of Culture with the aim of promoting sustainable development by educating citizens on issues of protection and promotion of both the natural environment and the cultural wealth of the country. As part of the Green Cultural Routes 2024 action, an educational program was implemented at the Numismatic Museum on Thursday 23/5 for 5th grade elementary school students entitled “Nature & Currency” where children were given the opportunity to learn about plants and animals that are depicted in the representations of ancient and modern coins. In addition, on the same day, a thematic tour was held for the general public, co-organized with the This is Athens -City Festival of the Municipality of Athens.
