The Library of the Numismatic Museum owns approximately 13,000 volumes of the fields of numismatics and sfragistics, as well as on history and archaeology. These include monographs, catalogues of museums and other numismatic collections, catalogues of auctions, proceedings of conferences, honorary and collective volumes, journals, and publications of various sorts. They also include a significant number of rare manuscripts, – some of which date back to the 16th century. In addition, the Library owns approximately 4,000 reprints and a rich archive of documents.

During the last decades, all books were recorded in a digital database which is constantly updated. Moreover, the detailed recording of all articles published in numismatic journals is in progress. The database constitutes a valuable research tool for all those scholars from around the world who visit the Library.
