On Olympus: A Photographic Journey through the Nature and Pilgrimages of Pieria
As part of the Ministry of Culture’s communication campaign “Green Cultural Routes 2024”, the Numismatic Museum, in collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Kitros, Katerini and Platamonas, the Regional Unit of Pieria, and the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (POTAP), presents the photography exhibition entitled “On Olympus: A Photographic Journey through the Nature and Pilgrimages of Pieria”.
Through the multi-thematic exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the natural wealth of Olympus, the world monument of nature and culture, the plain and coastal horizon, the pilgrimages and places of worship, the important historical and archaeological monuments, the picturesque settlements, the customs of the inhabitants and their productive activities.
The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 19:00 in the hospitable temporary exhibition hall of Ilios Melathros. After the opening ceremony, there will be an offering of monastic cuisine dishes prepared and cooked by the monks of the Holy Monasteries of the Holy Metropolis of Kitros, in the garden of the Numismatic Museum.
The exhibition will last until Monday, May 27, 2024, with opening hours, Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 to 15:30 and Thursday to Sunday from 8:00 to 20:00. Closed on Tuesdays.
